Today is a sample page of two antique postcards depicting Little Miss Muffet and Little Jack Horner. The postcards are 100 years old. This is a sample page of postcards I have included in this book. You will find quite a few different illustrations of trading cards, postcards and newspaper illustrations from the turn of the 20th century, a hundred years or older. I hope you are enjoying these samples from my book of Mother Goose.

Mother Goose of Yesteryear

Today I have a sample page from my book featuring Father Gander. He must be Mother Goose's husband. He is a sight to see. I think he is rather handsome in his own odd way. I hope you are able to go to your local bookstore and see my book "Mother Goose of Yesteryear."

The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe

This would probably labeled child abuse in this day and age, but at the turn of the 20th century it was more like mother's discipline. Some of the Nursery Rhymes of long ago were made to frighten the children into obeying their parents and it worked. The rest of the children in this illustration from 1918 look very contented. I will keep on including a few of the illustrations from my book "Mother Goose of Yesteryear" I hope you enjoy my sample pages. Did your mother read the Nursery Rhymes to you when you were young. That is why I think this book is so important to the mother's of todays children. They need to remember from whence we descended.

Introduction of Mother Goose of Yesteryear

Mother Goose of Yesteryear introduces you to no other but Mother Goose. A little bit about her history and some old illustrations of 19th century newspapers and ads and antique postcards. The Last half of the book is over 100 of her famous nursery rhymes. Children these days are not learning the old nursery rhymes and I am here to change that conception that children don't need them anymore. This is wrong! We must not forget Old Mother Goose. This book is filled with old illustrations of the old nursery rhymes from the Golden Age of Illustration from the late 1800s to the 1930s. You may view this book on Amazon.com. Barnes & Noble.com, Borders, etc. It was published by Pelican Publishing Company in 2008. Scribe
